For Craig sophomore Gemma Thomsen, this past October was her first year hosting an Argentine exchange student. Thomsen said, “It was a lot of fun, and it was cool getting to know how different it is here than it is there and how we had conversations in Spanish from just the little bit I knew.” The most surprising thing for her was how outgoing the visiting students were. “I thought they would be shyer, but they were really outgoing.” Above all, she gained friendships and would do the experience again. Thomsen would recommend students to take this opportunity to make friendships. “You should do it because it’s fun,” she said.
