Hannah Dunlavy Signs Letter of Intent

On Monday, December 9th, Craig senior Hannah Dunlavy signed a National Letter of Intent to play collegiate soccer for Division II Winona State University in Winona, Minn. The signing was held after school and a large audience was at attendance that night.

Bill McCabe, the head coach of the girl’s soccer team, gave Dunlavy a warm welcome to the stage and congratulated her for her achievements. He recalled the story of hitting gold four years ago with a group of talented and ambitious young athletes.

“Hannah’s biggest asset isn’t her knowledge of the game or her athleticism, and this is the way I feel, it’s her smile. The fact that her and her teammates can project that confidence means everything.” said Coach McCabe.

“Athletics has given me so much.” Dunlavy mentions in her speech before she thanked her soccer and basketball teammates who attended that night. Hannah expressed gratitude to her parents for their patience and “for being in my corner” and her coaches for their belief in her, “even when I don’t believe in myself.”

Winona State has always felt comfortable to her. “They had a little family there and they welcomed me in. I felt I could find a home there… It was a perfect fit,” Dunlavy said.
